Technical Assignment #2

DO I SUIT WIN7? OR DOES WIN7 SUIT ME?

Its a fast moving world with fast moving ins and outs too. What is it that we want to update and what is it that we sure do want to stick to even though it aint the latest. This holds good for the Microsoft upgrade of Windows, our favourite Operating System. Aint it the very favourite?
So there have been several queries, threads, analysises and bugs all to heap the hype about Mr. 7. So I read a part of all of that and I would like to share it on the blog, here:

Post Win XP, Microsoft has been selling it in good numbers till recently, Which is a little surprising because of the advent of Windows Vista emerging in the row. So surprisingly the sales of XP dint completely get affected(of course it did considerably, yet not as much) with the release of Vista unlike in the previous version upgrades. Windows 98 had nearly gotten stabbed in the back when XP was born. Some of the reasons for usually persisting use would be like:
-Old computers do not feel suitable with the newer and advanced versions in the market because of higher hardware requirements.
-Some owners just do not bother to try the newer versions. DULLARDS !! :P B)
-Some others get busy fighting consumerism.
-Like in the case of vista it was exceptionally concluded that in spite of a complete makeover the performance was not as great as expected rather many still preferred XP over it. People experienced vista and returned feedbacks like-its slow-GAWD IT GETS STUCK LIKE FOREVER EVER-IS MICROSOFT ON A BREAK?-You re new but you aint any good style.

Well, now they just seem to have leaped and so have the users who had previously chosen to stick with XP but are now deciding to move to the newest SEVEN!

So, what does it take to run it on your PC. The subject is Windows 7. I BETTER WATCH MY PRONOUNS :D:D
- 1 gigahertz or faster 32-bit or 64-bit processor
- 1 gigabyte RAM 32-bit or 2 GB RAM 64-bit
- 16 GB available hard disk space 32-bit or 20 GB 64-bit
- DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

I dont understand some of the above requirements. I picked it from the Microsofts. But I can surely read and let you know if we have any questions thrown back regarding it B)B)

Better things which I know about and those which seem attractive with the new 7 are:

***The Aero Peek effect: A lot of dragging and shaking effects work with this version of Windows. I believe the reason behind this is the fact that Windows 7 with WINDOWS TOUCH works like magic with fingers. But the Aero Peek effect is not just on the touch screen computers. On the extreme right-lower corner of the screen there is a little bar on hovering the mouse over which you can take a peek at your desktop. If you click on the same it works the same like the 'show desktop' in your previous windows version.

***Aero Shake is another seemingly similar feature. If you shake the title bar of a window the rest of the windows automatically minimize. If you shake it such that it touches the screen top then the window being shaken also turns full size. Its sounding like m explaining movements here, I m doing that but when you use the mouse yourself only then will you realize m not nuts.

*** Homegroup: It allows very easy networking. You can easily share data between laptops or computers by making a homegroup and sharing files on a wifi connection or even bluetooth.

*** 'Play to' option allows you to play music, photos, and videos from your PC to media devices connected to your home network. So it's easy to send music, photos, and videos from your PC to other compatible media devices connected to your home network.

***Library: This is very cool and I have felt its need so many times. When files of one kind are haphazardly lying on your hard disk. Some pictures in the C drive, others in the old OS folder, some in the other drive and so on, its not your headache anymore to put them in the right place and do the sorting. The Operating System now does it for you. All pictures can be in the Picture Library, Documents in the Documents Library and Music too in the very same fashion. EASY.
Also, it must be noted that the computer does not clone the files in the library and it still occupies space equal to that of once the file and not twice. The library collectively shows the files of similar type in one place without changing the place where the file is originally stored.

***BitLocker: It helps protect data on PCs and removable drives, with manageability to enforce encryption and backup of recovery keys.

*** Personally I felt that all this time when using XP the media player was an utter waste. I used Winamp. But now with Windows 7 I think the media Player plays cool and fast and efficient with playlisting, more plugins too.

It has been found that its more appropriate for gaming than any other version of Windows and also provides better security services.

Not forgetting to mention it comes with an excellent collection of wallpapers and you also have a provision of automatically cycling them.

Go make a switch if you havent made it so far. To me Windows 7 is one really exciting thing!
