The Vampire Fever

“A girl’s dream: I don’t want any prince charming on a white horse... I would rather die for a vampire coming in a BMW!!” 

I got this forwarded text some few days back and I couldn’t stop wondering about it. How true is this! Gone are the days when girls used to dream about the charming men they read about in fairytales. This era is of the vampires and the dark.

Endless TV shows based on vampires have popped up from nowhere twisting women’s minds to an extent that they no longer abhor evil. In fact they love anything and everything that’s even remotely close to devilish!
Edward Cullen from the Twilight series and Damon Salvatore from the Vampire Diaries have raised women’s expectations so much so that the real men have taken a backseat. We live in a complete dreamland, an alternate world, in denial of the reality!

You no longer need to be chivalrous and courteous to get the attention of a woman, all you need is those vampirish looks and gallant moves to have women swooning over you.

To think of it, who are vampires basically? They are what primal humans were. We have suppressed our instincts, suppressed what we truly are from inside and have become what we are now. Killing, hunting, fighting, living together, taking what’s yours, claiming what’s not yours have been our basic instincts, but not anymore. Now way more complicated emotions have taken their place. But vampires are back to change it all and make it less complicated. ;)

What is it about these surreal creatures that women can’t stop talking about them? They’re just about everywhere. Wallpapers, computers, mobiles, wardrobes, you name it and you’ll find them there! You enter the mess and you hear super excited girls squealing, blabbering about the new episode of their vampire shows. The very next time you enter the mess, you still find those girls talking about THE vampire but this time, in a trance from watching the episode! This vampire craze has gotten beyond belief, and why not?! They’re shown to be all what humans should be and what they aren’t. : /

People love to see them.People love to hear them.People love to feel them.People love to be them.

Vampires are highly irresistible in all they do. Thanks to these addictive shows, we perceive these sumptuously attractive creatures as nice smelling, impossibly strong, beautiful eyed men with a superb fashion sense. And oh! This one is special: they are amazingly rich!

Now give me one reason why would anyone resist those vampirish dreams? Why would anyone like to think of reality when dreams are so much better? I’m sure nobody will have an answer to that. ;)
